Mr. Scott-Paine has insured 203 (at his own cost) while she is in the yard. I have taken all the loose gear out of her, as she is actually my responsibility, apparently.
By the time she is ready for trial the Christmas leave period will be over, and Calshot will be able to find a coxswain and engineer for her. I could have wished the engineer to see the Hyland gear ... ..., as it now...; but that is not possible. They have kept only their duty crew at Calshot. If there is any hitch about ..."day finding these two airmen eventually, I will ring up S/L. Roach and ask him to give further orders.
203, 204 and 205 are now engined, and will be ready as soon after Christmas as you please. The Company are closing for 4 ... days (except for the Hylanders). The weighing of 203 (for inclining test completion) will be done when she is fit for running.
I will send a note reporting progress, as soon as anything definite is decided.
