As I said at the beginning of this letter, I am afraid that it is quite out of my power to help you, as I should like to do so. I was never in touch with the British in Mesopotamia, and did not work on their lines: indeed I am proud to say that on my own front there was never an Englishman killed: and in consequence my mis...ing in your case would do you actual harm, since there had already been some [...] ... ... out ...egusation between the ... ... administration there is however very efficient, and I am sure they can get you news: though I fear that after this lapse of time it will not be of a nature to give you comfort. Sir Percy ... has not yet returned to Bagdad, you ... ... in many ways: but I believe that Colonel A.T. Wilson, his deputy, would do everything he could for you, if you wrote to him. You probably have already done so. Colonel Nalder, the Governor of Bagdad could find Nalder: Esy.
