It is cold & a high wind blows, and I go to thread the creeks with a spade: nailed people -- doubt think slippery things may write them out. My days belong to the R.A.F. and my nights are quizzing the Odyssey into English prose; and I am quite happy and reasonably engaged and amused: and my spectacle is not funnier than yours, perhaps; by and large. An revoir; when the funk which keeps me inside camp bounds for week after week ends, and I run abroad again. For then I want to come up to: see you, & sit once more in that marvellous garden. T.S.E.
