To Major General A. P. Wavell,
335171 A/C Shaw
26, IV. 29 R.A.F. Caernarvon
Plymouth,
Dear Wavell
Can’t get away yet : it will have to wait
till late in May. So much to do : very little
energy to do it with. So I am not riding.
Macphail is, they say, a Canadian doctor.
If I may was as sure about anything as he is
about everything in war & morals & manners &
politics and literature – then I’d be a great
man.
He tries, I think, to be nice about me :
but he is a mean cad about Henry Alison : and
not intelligent either, I think. Doesn’t
weigh much, either side.
Yours
T.E.Shaw
