I felt most vullnerable with this new wild
character Achi met me. Very different
from the shilled town folk. Tho' they
are strangely bright, at core perhaps
rather dull, having no will. These
wandering Arabs are more themselves
& nearer animality. They are proud,
poor, tough, inlimitable, resourceful
vagrants, distribution [illegible]
life, procuring bread & [illegible].
