Mount Batten 18.VI.31 Dear Flight Lieutenant Beauforte-Greenwood Here is an advance copy of the last notes upon R.A.F. 200. I see that in all I have written you almost a book upon the boat and here engines. It has been interesting and difficult, and therefore I am very grateful to you for giving me the chance of doing it. This is the third good job I have had in the R.A.F. You have been very kind in appreciating our work, and the letter received from Coastal Area about Corporal Bradbury should do him good in his trade. I feel particularly pleased about the whole affair, because it has meant our getting so good a boat so quickly. She left. yesterday for Calshot, but got only to Portland. I fancy that big-ship sailors are not always happy in little boats. The water conditions were suitable for a fast run, like what we had in Lyme Bay. The first dint in her beauty was made by Wing Commander Wat...s here; but I did not log it, as he was sorry for doing it. Do you think any arrangement could be made for a Mount Batten crew (Corpl. Stains, L/C Headon, and Corpl. Bradbury if an engineer is wanted) to take over the boat eventually to be allotted to us, when she is ready at the Yard ? They would get her
