Dear Robin
Today with a cheque for £130 . 8 . 2 I have
finished paying for the changes to my cottage. After that the
cheque has come (or even earlier) will you please work out
the total of my overdraft, and deduct this off my securities
in your hands must be sold, to pay it off?
We will begin by paying off the overdraft, and then
I'll have to take stock and see how hard hit I am in the
matter of income. It necessary I may even have to make a
bit bores to straighten up my living. What a bore money is!
But the only sensible thing, while I was on the cottage, was
to finish it off regardless of ... expense; and then take
stock. It is finished now, except for minor trifles which
can be added as money serves. Nothing essential.
Yours very sadly
T.E.S.
I hate giving you this work; but please take it light-
heartedly. I swear that the past investment policy would
be to slab the stout page of the Times from the back, with
a pint
