To Colonel R.Buxton.
Clouds Hill
Written in haste
Tuesday night.
Dear Robin
I on't telegraph: they are sent on by next day's
postman, and so take longer than a letter. And I have
no telephone.
I shall be here the whole of Easter, and it will
be delightful if you and the V8 will come for a moment.
no notice necessary.
Any day: any time. The only possible entertainment is
tea; for in the house are neither kitch nor larder: nor
cigarettes nor drinks. What a house ! - or cottage!
It would be an excellent run for the new car:I
suggest you bring the millionaire as navigating officer.
Marlborough - Salisbury Blandford: take the Puddletown
Dorchester road out of Blandford for about 4 miles. Then
turn L. . down to Brydged, to Winterborne Kingston, and Bere
Regis. In Bere Regis cut straight across the main road
(where an R.A.C. man stands) and make for the about
2 1/2 miles: when you will cross a sk...h yr a narrow bridge,
and ascend a long slope, on to a heath, to the top of a
very large and steep tumulus-mound. You will then be 2 1/
miles from Bere Regis. After the crest of the mound, run
down 100 yards, and take a by-road to the L. across the
heath. After 1/3 of this comes a steep dip. Turn L at
the foot, and my cottage is 50 yards down the turn.
Do come . It will be a delight to show you my
simplicities.
Yours
T.E.S.
