We took the target out at 15 m.p.h. the other day. Smooth water, so no wire trouble. We turned as sharply as we pleased (Ferry-Perkins 159, the 35-footer), and the wire had no tendency to sink or the target to swing off course or slow down. Now we are waiting for a choppy day, and the weather seems set at glorious. W/Cmdr. Smith was up in a Southampton,to spot. He could see not only the splash but the yellow of the target, from 1500 feet. I fancy it was ballasting astern: the nose was bobbing. You will have a good day for the Scillies. I was Polperro-Fowey way yesterday in my Biscayne Baby.
Yours sincerely
T. E. Shaw.
