O Gruesome Anatomy
Silence? Why was Cortes silent,
Because he couldn't think of anything to say. You are in
Almednagar. I in Plymouth. I am become a camp-rat, moving
from hut to work to dingden to bed, never going out, not
riding blues, nor bathing, nor reading nor playing gramophones.
I am broke, and am translating a book which never progresses - from that
is earned - more life. Meanwhile life is a bit gloomy.
Engaged, he is! Good Lord and Good and Lord. And he
doesn't say what to! Something in Armednagar? or just a
postal engagement. Please be explicit.
I hope you get your "First". What about getting Corporeal
soon? L/C is only a step towards that; and in itself and
unfortunate for others. Up with you! Hurry. I want to know
a Sargeant.
Tennis, squash, golf. Heaven help us. I play the fool,
better & better as I practice it ever more & more.
I went to Clouds Hill last Autumn. It looked perfection,
& I felt a desire to plant myself there for good, leaving the
R.A.F., and become wise. Knowles still lives opposite. Tek
is home from Canada for a visit; Dick is in Iraq, with the
R.A.F.; Brian is/was in the Union Castle Line. The
Hut's looks the same as ever; but all new faces. I suppose
my batch is about finished now.
Are you taking on? I suppose so. Good luck to you.
W.B.B. is at Lydd now, I fancy. He was a real good soul. I
wish he was within striking distance. Strike a S/M? No!
not guilty. Metaphor.
Saw Foah in October. Brown, crooked-smiling, twinkle-
eyed scruffy little object, not a day olden; but a little
shabby. He was had a hard time of it. Seeing light & bit,
now, I fancy. Dahlia - farming.
Yours
