Dear K.
I wrote to him, referring him to Eliot, who will
unquestioningly say no. I'm with Eliot too: I wonder what
Chapter 23 is all about?
I am alive: but overworked with R.A.F.stuff: so
much so that I've asked for help, and been given a new
airman as slave. Schneider ... Race work, mostly. I'm
clerk for that.
In October I hope for a month's leave: then I
propose to see nearly everybody and everywhere and
everything in England: - and whack into that Odyssey job
which has stood still sione Easter. Too busy here: far
too busy. I seldom even ride, though the bike is a dream
smoothness and power and beauty. Better than XTO: or at
least on my engine. I'm better than him on his. Not
polished like a dew-drop, alas! I'd like to see him. I'm
so glad if has come off.
What's this "devoted parent killing snake"? I like
the bearded creature immensely. Decoration for what?
Yours
T.E.S.
Walker, of Dent & Son.
