I have accepted the copy of it; and advised him to revise it, exclude repetitions, shorten here and there - insert notes or introduction - ill as temporising measures. He must hasten or (derate soon; I hope he does not bust, for then he will die or go mad. If he cools and re-erects it, (and if he re-erects it he will cool) his passion will be over. If not, poor Dors and poor other trail. In a cool reading he would see that no publisher could face it. Don't mistake me. It is not rubbish; it is only mad. Piercing & crazy by turns.
