To Mrs.J.H.Mitchell (Miss Hamilton) 11,Ashsewood Rd.,Glasgow W.2. 332171 A62 558W Roos 2 ER3 R.A.F., Drigh Road Laarchi India 26.9.27 Dear Miss Hamilton Your letter gave me a shock: I had no idea Marshall was dead: not even that he was ill. I'm so out of the current of news now. just after Christmas I saw my printer to send him a copy of my book - a present. Last time I saw him was a two years ago, at Dickey Hospital. He looked bloodless & weak, as though his heart was wrong: but I put it down to the strain of his having lately too ... to Jedcah, a most unhealthy place. I am so sorry. As you know, he & I were friends and colleagues you can think of: He was one of the best and most helpful. Always so glad and ..ly and helpful, a scrap of a story: as "Revolt in the Hospital" would agree to that. There is more: a little as "the publisher" would agree to that. In the full text... Purposely but still not such - enough without Marshall in the full text. I left out, so far as I could, the telling other peoples' stories. I can't realise he was gone. It must be a great loss to yours sincerely T.E.Shaw
