North Batton,
2nd April, 1931;
Flight Lieutenant Norrington
Flight Lieutenant Vinman has given instructions that a copy of the report which is being rendered to-day to Headquarters, Coastal Area, upon the new 37'-foot Seaplane Tender supplied by Power Boat Co. should be sent to you personally in case the Easter Leave period might introduce delay in its being forwarded to you.
The only deficiencies from this copy are the two sketch-diagrams of the boat, which will not interest you, as you have been in it, and the photographs of the boat out of water.
Costal Area instructions received to-night are for the boat to be sent to Hythe by Coast Line Steamer. The next steamer leaves at noon on Monday, and the Power Boat Company will be able to collect the boat on next Tuesday morning. All spares are being sent with it;
The report was demanded only yesterday, and the 50-hour test period was only finished to-day. Consequently the report has been written in haste, and is not as good as it might have been, I fear.
