1st Edition Began Jan. 10 1919 Paris Finished July 25  [Flying Kegell] (Chap ii written in Hardley-Page between Paris and Lyons) Lost November  1919 Reading all but introduction, which survived + was incorporated in 2nd edition. 2nd Edition Began December 2, 1919 Oxford, + then dropped till Jan-Feb 1920 when 95% was written in Barton St. in 30 days. Finished May 11 1920 14 Barton St. + corrected + added to slowly for nearly two years. Destroyed May 10 1922 [unclear] except for specimen page inserts after Epilogue of this copy. This 3rd edition Began Sept 1 1920. In Barton St.      Parts of it written in [Jedda unclear] Finished May 9, 1922. In Barton St. Printed (Oxford times) Edition (from the MS.) Began Jan 20 1922 Finished June 24 1922 Eight copies: of which 6 were assembled + corrected in August 1922 + copy ii given to DG Hogarth copy no 1 is the best copy for corrections though its punctuation needs wholesale revision [according] to the MS copy.
