Jokes in the riding lights, by fitting a 3-watt 18 volt
bulb instead of the 4-watt 12 v. It should give a rate
oflittle more that 2½ watts, if I am correct, and so make
the batteries last much longer. Also I am trying to get
details of spot-head-lamp fittings. Something on the
wheel-house roof, that the driver could move with his
free-hand, sweeping for crash or morning.
If you can come down here, when we have things
more ship-shape, it would be pleasant. Wing Commander
A.ring is unhappy because you have not authorised some
expenditure upon replacing chains or something at St.
Mary's moorings. He regards himself as Member for Sefill...
We have also got our short buoy out now. It maks for a
brighter Cattlewater.
It is very good of you to have hurried the cradle
up; besides the propellors there is a defective self-
bailer, and a leak (ifancy a shaft-burc from vibration)
in the engine compartment, and the hull is very green, ---
so it will be a relief to get her up for 48 hours.
Yours sincerely
T.E.Shaw
