To: G.F.J. Cumberlege. From: Capt. 336171 A/C Shaw, N.A.A.F.I. Felixstowe - 3.V.35 Dear Cumberlege, Crossing our conversation of last Friday there arrive today two cheques (for 1700 - odd dollars) from your New York office. They sent two so that I could cash all, half, or none, according to my estimation of the dollar exchange! This is very considerate of them, but I have turked the problem - by sending the cheques to my Bank to do with as they please. After all, money is the bank's business. 1700 dollars is a lot of royalty, more than I ever dreamed off. I am very grateful to all of you. B.R. hopes to come across "in May" but has not yet settled the date, I fancy. Probably you will not overlap. I expect to be here most of this week, and then may go to Cowes, in the Isle of Wight. Yours, T. E. Shaw.
