To G. Brough Ozone Hotel Bridlington Yorks. 28. II. 34 Dear G.B. A note to tell you that I have left the South, and expect to be here till the end of February when my R.A.C. time ends. At the Show I met your "Lucas" colleague. He told me (should I repeat it?) that he was hoping to get my present SS 100 from you when I handed it in; and this has made me think that perhaps I ought not to stick to it until the new one is finished - supposing that it does end happily, after all. For the present the poor thing is standing on its two stands in the garage of my cottage in Dorset, while I flash about Bridlington less magnificently (but with what quiet) on a push-bike. I have hopes of a few days leave at Christmas, and wondered if it would be convenient to you if I cleaned the grease off, blew the oil out of the heads, and made for Nottingham, or my ... back, just before the end of the year? I could leave here with you and continue to Bridlington by train. That last might enable you to make "Lucas" happy some months before the proper time. I am looking forward very much to this new "100" from you, hoping that it is going to be as good as it looks. Being without a B.S. is a narrow and sorrowful life; it means that one sticks closer to one's work and loafs away the evenings. G. VII is still running superbly, except that his dynamo again fails to charge, unless I excite the cut-cut by hand. When "..." is "running", I refer to last time I had a ride; of course he's cold and miserable on his legs, just now. It's the first time I've laid a bike up for years. Don't bother to answer this, unless the early delivery of G. VII will inconvenience you. He can safely stand where he is till I'm free in March, if that is better for your plans. It is as you wish. Yours ever T E Shaw
