Dear Brum
This note came wandering after me up here, and I send it on.
We were here, except that I need a set of twist bits; or if not a set, at least a set as I can get. I've been to the only tool shop they are at 27/6. This is beyond me. The only other place at Bridlington is Woolworths, but I don't like the look of their tools.
So I remembered that you were a perfectly good carpenter, who recently had to search all over Brum for tools when you were helping lend Duckitt a hand. Tell me, are there any shops in Birmingham which sell second-hand carpenter's tools .... and if so, could you give a look-see brum for twist bits ? I want decent ones, to do the R.A.F. job here; and I have the notion that after-wards I may be able to wangle them (if part worn) away to my cottage, to comfort my leisure. There is no good roof to do in that cottage, and my book-ists isn't good enough. I need a draw-knife, bradawls, two gimlets, a mortising chisel, mallet, bench-vice, soldering iron, raven saw. Just that. So do use some of the time the brum pawnchops are full of good goods.
Cheerio: how's the job ? Mine here is a till 6, with a dinner hour and two "smokes". And regular.
Write also about that visit to Brum. Can we get snapped on a Saturday afternoon?. Choose a day Without football. How's the Villa? ?.... ha ha
