To H.Williamson.(etc.) 16.3.50-21.3.50
word: mental constipation.
I sit in Mount Batten all day & sleep all night, very
quietly content, but snapping every spare hour I get over
old Odysseus, a new version of whose adventures I am
producing ("on a cash basis) for a very rich American.
Hope he likes it better than I do - but the cash will be
superb when it is all over.
All over will not be much before November next, I fear:
but I shall run out before that and see you. I swear it.
Does not your rear-end address still live in my breast
pocket? (right breast, alas: a pencil holds the honour of
my handkert's pocket).
My regards to Mrs W. and the toddlers, who have a
long way to grow yet.
Yours
