To Hogarth 22.XI.27 2 Poor Wood asked repeatedly for a copy. He will not like the part I make him play in it. Yet I was inaccurate about him, out of kindness. Bother. One is too kindly, sometimes. No news of blok for a long time. He is on holiday. So I do not know if "Revolt" is to be stop.ed or not. Robert Graves reproduces most of its matter in the edition of his book. So the whole affair may no longer be of sufficient effective; and the thing has long passed the point of profitable sale, or rather of sale in profitable ...... of the old type, review only over the tops of the cheap edition which was in the back of his mind. Therefore I cherish hopes that everybody will agree to its being stopped. The Gravès book, following so quick: ly on thro'k & 's, is so langatory ... will feed people up. They will say "we have too much of this frilor"; and the attitude of A.T.W. will become the fashion. That will create a favouring shadow, in which I can live from 1960 onward. or so I reckon. T.E.S.
